Custodes
General idea: Use the synergy of the custodes team
Use damage dealers that are either flying or have rapid assault and buff them with Dante
This is a melee team.
Additional info: Damage dealers should be in 2-hexes-range of Dante
Enemies should be adjacent to a unit that used an active ability that turn
Trajann should be adjacent to the enemy, before attacks are made

Click Nandis video for more information.

Demo Battles
Ideal lineup:
  • Trajann
  • Dante
  • Kariyan
  • Ragnar
  • Kharn
  • B-List substitutes: anyone with flying and/or rapid assault
Works well vs.: Ghazghkull, Belisarius Cawl, Avatar of Khaine, Riptide
    Not good vs.: Mortarion

    Multi-Hit
General idea: Buff the damage of your damage dealers
Use damage dealers with a high number of hits in their attack
Additional info: Bring 2 (or 3) buffers and 3 (or 2) damage dealers
Make sure your damage dealers stay at optimal range and use high ground if possible

Buffers don't need to hit every turn

    Demo Battles
    Ideal lineup: Support (Buffers):
  • Eldryon (x/50)
  • Aethana (x/50)
  • Calgar (x/50)

    Damage dealers:
  • Ragnar (D3 45+/45+)
  • Kharn (D3 x/45+)
  • B-List substitutes: anyone with 6+ hits (Bellator, Re'Vas, Snotflogga, Volk, Maugan, Ra, Helbrecht, Roswitha, Boss Gulgortz...)
Works well vs.: Rogal Dorn, Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka, Szarekh, Magnus (with Hellbrecht!) any Tyranid Boss
    Not good vs.: Mortarion

    Double Howl
General idea: Use Ragnar and Aun'Shi to use Ragnars active ability twice
Additional info: The Advantage of this team: you can get acceptable levels of damage against nearly any boss. It probably won't be great damage but it works if your other options just don't cut it.

Another advantage is, that your Aun'Shi doesn't have to be top notch (though it helps of course). If he is about G2 and his skills at 35/35 that already helps. He just has to survive till it's time to double howl (so round 1 or 2) and as this is the time most of the damage is already done it doesn't matter if your team survives to the later rounds.

    Demo Battles
    Ideal lineup: Ragnar
    Aun'Shi
    Aethana
    Calgar
    Eldryon
B-List substitutes: other buffers: Roswitha, Helbrecht, Asmodai, Xybia
Works well vs.: nearly any boss
Not good vs.: Do not use team if they map doesn't have high ground to attack from for Ragnar

    Admech
General idea: Use Exitor-Rho, Tan Gi'Da, Actus
Attack with lots of mechanicals (summons!)

    Demo Battles
    Ideal lineup:
  • Exitor-Rho
  • Tan Gi'Da
  • Actus
  • Vitruvius
  • Trajann
  • Alternatives and B-List substitutes:
  • Boss Gulgortz (triggers Rho twice)
  • Buffers: Aethana, Calgar - Eldryon sadly does not buff the secondary attacks of Exitor-Rho anymore
  • Sho'Syl or Re'Vas vs. Szarekh and Screamer-Killer
  • Aleph-Null or Anuphet vs. Avatar
  • Budget version: anyone with the mechanical trait
  • Works well vs.: Szarekh, any Tyranid Boss, Rogal Dorn (at least at lower levels)
    Not good vs.: Magnus
problems arise at higher tier bosses if the team is not fully build

    Neuro
    General idea: Use Neurothrope
Attack with lots of psykers (and/or blasters)
Additional info: Start the fight by damaging the boss with Neurothropes active to instantly trigger it's Neuroparasite passive twice. Subsequent psychic or blast damage increases the count of the Neuroparasite which in turn ramps up the damage Neurothrope does with it's attacks.

Later in the game (when the Neuroparasite count reached it's max with 15 stacks) use Yazaghor's active ability targeting Neurothorpe. When you now attack with Neurothorpe it deals an additional hit dealing very high damage.

If you have Roswitha included in your line-up, this is the perfect time to use her active ability (team deals extra dmg vs daemons!). That's also when you should use Ahrimans active ability (Doombolt).

    Demo Battles
    Ideal lineup: Core:
  • Neurothrope
  • Abraxas
  • Yazaghor
    Two spots are flexible:
  • Ahriman
  • Eldryon
  • Roswitha
  • Thaddeus Noble
  • Mephiston War Machine:
  • Probably Excorcist (esp. with Roswitha) or Forgefiend (to generate fire hexes for Ahriman)
  • B-List substitutes: Buffers (eg. Roswitha)
anyone who deals psychic or blast damage (Thaddeus, Archimatos,...)
Works well vs.: Mortarion (Meta team!), Avatar, Rogal Dorn
    Not good vs.: Magnus

    Snotty Weirdness
General idea: Use Snotflogga for grot summons
Use Ancient Thoread and Vitruvius to add additional hits to melee attacks
Additional info: Enjoy heavy hitting Snot with bonus Grots. And bonus hits on top of bonus hits.
Thoread and Vit boost hits and also bring tactical solutions to otherwise certain death situations.
Snot overperforms vs lower armor bosses but still packs some punch against higher armored level bosses.

    Demo Battles
    Ideal lineup: Snotflogga
    Ancient Thoread
Vitruvius (replace with Tanksmasha vs. Screamer)
    Boss Gulgortz
Sword Brother Godswyl (replace with Tanksmasha vs. Avatar)

If Snotflogga is equipped with Supa-Cybork-Body (relic): Actus
    Lineup vs. Mortarion: Snotflogga
    Vitruvius
    Boss Gulgortz
    Tanksmasha
    B-List substitutes: Thoread
More Orks, melee damage dealers (high damage, less hits)
    Traditional buffers (Eldryon, Aethana, Calgar)
Special buffers (Roswitha - essential vs. psyker bosses!)
Works well vs.: Magnus, Avatar, Mortarion, Szarekh, Tyranids
Not good vs.: Rogal Dorn, Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka
